Unveiled is the Diocese of Richmond's Pre-Cana program for couples preparing for the sacrament of Marriage. This day of formation and reflection is offered on select Saturdays throughout the year at locations across the Diocese.
The day begins at 8:00am and concludes shortly after the Saturday Vigil Mass.
Vigil Mass times vary depending on parish and typically begin at either 5 or 5:30 p.m. (check the parish website of your desired Unveiled location for exact times). Couples can expect to depart with their certificate of completion within 30 minutes of the conclusion of Mass.
Throughout the day, couples hear from live facilitators and watch a series of videos that follow a take-home workbook. Couples spend time in prayer, reflection, and discussion, to deepen their relationship with each other and with God. Over half of our participants report having conversations about topics at Unveiled that they had not previously discussed with their future spouse. The first half of the day covers the theology and grace of Marriage as well as the signs, symbols, and sacramental meaning of the wedding. The second half of the day focuses on human formation (communication, disagreement, intimacy, stewardship of finances, sacrificial love) and becoming one (blending your lives, families, faith, and aspirations).
